awake my soul.

"We have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. how much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." Hebrews 12:9-11

Ooof. Try asking God for a flood of discipline and wisdom...he won't let you down.

I'm really craving a roadtrip. I miss my car and the ability to just up and go without planning. Mama loved roadtrips because you can see so much more. Right now (or..when I journaled this...) in gorgeous Deutschland, the skies are an extravagant blue with a breathtaking depth, like an island ocean or Dominican larimar blending into liquid sapphire. Two chips of diamonds for two stars. The clouds are bruised purple on the edges, and orangey pink in the center like they're looking down on a spurting volcano. So lovely and peaceful and enlivening and exciting all at once!
